Traveling to Tamarit

The wedding will take place at the beautiful, historic Tamarit Castle (Castell de Tamarit), located on a hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean along the northeastern Costa Dorada of Catalonia, Spain. This area is about an hour south of Barcelona, along the coast.

We recommend flying into Barcelona via Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) and either staying in the city itself or heading south along the coast towards Tamarit and beyond.

As you travel south from Barcelona, you'll find yourself on the Passeig Marítim, a charming boardwalk lined with beachfront hotels and plenty of places to enjoy local tapas, ice cream, and shopping. If you're looking for this kind of atmosphere, the city of Sitges is a perfect choice.

Tamarit is located in the province of Tarragona, and the city of Tarragona is just 15 minutes further south from the castle. This lovely port city is rich in history, with many ancient ruins remaining from its time as the Roman colony of Tarraco. It offers fantastic restaurants and a wealth of beautiful sights to explore. For accommodations, there are coastal hotels for those who want a beachside stay, as well as inland options with stunning mountain views. We’ve shared a few recommendations below.

For those looking to stay closer to the venue, we’ve also included a few local hotels in the nearby town of Altafulla, just north of the castle towards Barcelona. These are venues recommended by the castle for a convenient stay in the immediate area.
